OKC Industry Flea

This past weekend we participated in Industry Flea, a monthly pop-up market taking place the last Friday of every month in conjunction with H&8th, the largest monthly food truck festival in the US. The event featured a variety of local vendors including craftsmen, artisan food products and vintage finds in addition to local shops. We had a great time meeting new customers and hanging out with other local brands like: Red Hot Mama's Pickles, Sole Root, Sweet and Spurs, Shop Savvy, and Out on a Limb.

It was fun being a small part of the resurgence of downtown OKC.  It is amazing when you stop to think that the first H&8th was held in Aug 2011 and the event now attracts more than 30k visitors!  That last year the area near 10th & Hudson was little more than an empty lot and now the area features The Bleu GartenR&J Supper Club, Fassler Hall & Dust Bowl.  It is a very exciting time in OKC and Sparrow Park is happy to be part of it.

Our blankets are the perfect fit for bicycle baskets!

One of the most fun aspects of the weekend was checking out the other local brands:

Buttermilk Southern Sliders is Waffle Champion's new food truck....

... their fried chicken sliders are amazing!

These guys stole the show (Mustang Creek Alpacas)

Really cute wares from A Date with Iris

Our new favorite place to buy plants (The Plant Stand)

And fun entertainment from Honky Tonk Stepchild

We'll be out of town during the next couple Industry Flea events but hope to participate again in late summer and fall.  Watch our social media for updates!

OKC Run to Remember Memorial Marathon

Each year the OKC Run to Remember Memorial Marathon routes runners right past our house. It makes for a fun and reflective morning.  We gather outside at 6am with our neighbors to enjoy our coffee & tea, cheer on the runners, and commemorate the Oklahoma City bombing.  Congrats to all of this year's participants and finishers!

This year our park featured a marching band to help keep motivations up

We are always inspired by the firefighters completing the race in full gear

If you ever find yourself in OKC the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum is a must-see.
